Solved phpbb3 memberlist

Post by kaithama on May 9th 2012, 1:35 am

I am having trouble with the new phpbb3 new member list code.

Code:
.membox {
  float: left;
  padding: 5px;
  border: 1px solid #105289;
  background: #e1ebf2;
  margin: 10px;
  height: 115px;
  width: 165px;
  border-radius: 3px;
  box-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #105289;
}
.membox:hover {  border: 1px solid #c05; }
.membox .showinfo>a img {
  display: block;
  height: 90px;
  width: 90px;
}
.membox .showinfo td {  float: right; }
.membox .showinfo a {  font-weight: bold;  font-size: 11px;}
#memberlist { padding: 15px 5px; margin-bottom: 30px; }
#memberlist .row1, #memberlist .row2, #memberlist tbody, #memberlist thead {display:none}
.memopt {  display: block; }
.memopthead {  text-decoration: underline;  display: block; }
.meminner {
  position: absolute;
  z-index: 999;
  border: 1px solid #c05;
  background: #e1ebf2;
  box-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #666;
  border-radius: 3px;
  padding: 5px;
  width: 120px;
  margin-left: 15px;
}

then i did this
Code:
Code:

    function sortMemlist() {
      var x=document.getElementById('memberlist'),
          y=x.getElementsByTagName('tr'),
          headers=y[0].getElementsByTagName('th');
      for(i=1;i<y.length;i++) {
        var outer=document.createElement('div'); outer.className="membox";
        var td=y[i].getElementsByTagName('td');
        outer.innerHTML+="<div onmouseover=\"$('#meminfo"+i+"').show();\" onmouseout=\"$('#meminfo"+i+"').hide();\" class=\"showinfo\">"+ td[1].innerHTML+ "</div>";
        var inner=document.createElement('div'); inner.className="meminner";
        inner.id="meminfo"+i; inner.style.display="none";
        for(j=3;j<td.length-2;j++) {
              if(td[j].innerHTML!='' && td[j].innerHTML!='  ') {
                  inner.innerHTML+="<span class='memopthead'>"+headers[j].innerHTML+":</span>";
              }
            inner.innerHTML+="<span class='memopt'>"+td[j].innerHTML+"</span><br>";
        }
        outer.appendChild(inner);
        x.appendChild(outer);
        $($('.showinfo')[i-1]).append(td[td.length-2]).append(td[td.length-1]);
      }
    }

I put it in the css and the java scrip. but i'm still having trouble

You still have 'code: ' at the start of your code, did you accidentally put that in the JS too?
Also check your browsers error console, if you not sure how to, then just do a quick google search relevant to your browser.

You could do with reading the rest of the tutorial. It explains it after the code.

Its bad practice to grab a code then leave, and then just go an post it another site away from the origin with no permission.

OK I have like read it and I get a bit of it but I still don't get one thing. 1. is that the color thing, like how it says, background: #e1ebf2; and the rest which I'm a bit confused. And I change it and it doesn't work.

What did you change the code to? You'll need to use color code like #FFFFFF

So it goes like:

background: #ffffff;

You can get code from many websites such as this one

It's not the colour bit that's your problem, it's the bit regarding calling the function. You need to put it in an already existing jQuery function or make a new one.
The last two code blocks in the tutorial, and the paragraphs about them are what you need to be reading.

Please next time consider asking on my forum rather than postin my codes on other places. It constitutes as distribution, which I do not allow.

Well done LGforum ,I've been looking for code/script like this. The Avatars seem a bit stretched on some, but not all of them. I like that the animated avatars actually display with "animation".
Anyho, it worked for me.

Thanks. If your avatars seemed stretched then that can be sorted with a few tweaks in the provided CSS. If its a big problem for you let me know in the thread and I'll let you know what to change.

Ya i figured a few tweaks was needed. I tend to LISTEN (lol) when code/script provider recommends not changing things within the code or script. I appreciate you offering to help in getting avatars to display better, and will take you up on that offer. Unfortunately my time today is limited and will be spent at my mothers bed side( i think you get the idea). Just changing the color scheme to match my site has improved the appearance .. Great job LG thumleft

Ok so i want over to this forum http://www.malware-site.www/forum/index.php/topic/114-a-new-phpbb3-memberlist/ and where it says
Code:
 "; var inner=document.createElement('div'); inner.className="meminner"; inner.id="meminfo"+i; inner.style.display="none"; for(j=3;j<="" span="">"; } inner.innerHTML+=""+td[j].innerHTML+" "; } outer.appendChild(inner); x.appendChild(outer); $($('.showinfo')[i-1]).append(td[td.length-2]).append(td[td.length-1]); } }
do I have to modify it?

Ignore that topic, as the codebox has messed up the code unfortunately.

You don't have to modify anything lol... just follow the tutorial adding the codes where and when it says.

When I looked at your board you hadn't followed the end steps of the tutorial though. The explanation regarding the two code blocks at the end.

That code your posting is completely messed up and not correct. Rolling Eyes
The tutorial explains it fully and people have successfully installed it many times from that tutorial, so I'm not sure how to help you.

Make sure your looking at the tutorial on avacweb, and you need to be looking at those last two code blocks and read about them, becaus that is what you were missing when I looked at your board.

This is the real script of it i heard the instrutions very clear here is the JS

Put this in your Javascript codes management

Name it memberlist and make it all pages and put this code in

Code:
var CopyrightNotice='Create a unique memberlist script for Forumotion Boards by LGforum. Copyright © by AvacWeb. All Rights Reserved. Use and  modification of this script is not allowed without this entire copyright notice in the original, copied, or modified script. No distribution without consent.';
$(function(){if(document.getElementById('memberlist')){sortMemlist();}});
function sortMemlist() {
  var x=document.getElementById('memberlist'),
      y=x.getElementsByTagName('tr'),
      headers=y[0].getElementsByTagName('th');
  for(i=1;i<y.length;i++) {
    var outer=document.createElement('div'); outer.className="membox";
    var td=y[i].getElementsByTagName('td');
    outer.innerHTML+="<div onmouseover=\"$('#meminfo"+i+"').show();\" onmouseout=\"$('#meminfo"+i+"').hide();\" class=\"showinfo\">"+ td[1].innerHTML+ "</div>";
    var inner=document.createElement('div'); inner.className="meminner";
    inner.id="meminfo"+i; inner.style.display="none";
    for(j=3;j<td.length-2;j++) {
          if(td[j].innerHTML!='' && td[j].innerHTML!='  ') {
              inner.innerHTML+="<span class='memopthead'>"+headers[j].innerHTML+":</span>";
          }
        inner.innerHTML+="<span class='memopt'>"+td[j].innerHTML+"</span><br>";
    }
    outer.appendChild(inner);
    x.appendChild(outer);
    $($('.showinfo')[i-1]).append(td[td.length-2]).append(td[td.length-1]);
  }
}

then put the css in

Code:
.membox {
  float: left;
  padding: 5px;
  border: 1px solid #105289;
  background: #e1ebf2;
  margin: 10px;
  height: 115px;
  width: 165px;
  border-radius: 3px;
  box-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #105289;
}
.membox:hover {  border: 1px solid #c05; }
.membox .showinfo>a img {
  display: block;
  height: 90px;
  width: 90px;
}
.membox .showinfo td {  float: right; }
.membox .showinfo a {  font-weight: bold;  font-size: 11px;}
#memberlist { padding: 15px 5px; margin-bottom: 30px; }
#memberlist .row1, #memberlist .row2, #memberlist tbody, #memberlist thead {display:none}
.memopt {  display: block; }
.memopthead {  text-decoration: underline;  display: block; }
.meminner {

  border: 1px solid #c05;
  background: #e1ebf2;
  box-shadow: 2px 2px 2px #666;
