Is there anyway to get a notification on the forum of a new members request to join, vs. on just email? Sorry if this has been asked, could not find

Hello!
Do you mean you want to set activation of new accounts for admins? This means that a new registered account needs to be approved first by an admin before he/she can log in to the forum.

No.
When someone submits a request to join forum (admin approval required is set), I would like to have something on my forum that says there is a request pending, so I don't have to look at email all the time to see if someone is wanting to join.

You can change it here:
Administration Panel > Users & Groups > Users > Users Options
Send notify e-mail on new user registrations: [] None [] Moderators [] Administrators

I believe the only way to be notified is by email.

Right I have that set. What I was hoping for was something to alert me on my forum that there was a pending member so I dont have to look at my email all the time.

There won't be any 'pending' user if you have the following settings set on your forum:
Admin Panel > Users & Groups > User Options > New accounts activation : Set it to 'Automatic' activate > Save

That option will let the new members log in without activating their account by e-mail or by an admin. Wink

Also, you can make sure that there are no pending members without looking at your email by going to Admin Panel> Users and Groups > Inactive Users and then checkmark and active them
