RSS Feed Widget with Author and Thumbnail

Post by vpapadolias on May 20th 2012, 9:36 am

Hi, i searched on the forum on how to implement an RSS Widget and found the following code, which i changed for a specific category of mine...

<script language="JavaScript" src="http://help.forumotion.com/rss/get_rss.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript">
nb_sujets = 1;
display_text = 0;
largeur_tab = "18%";
affichage_nb_reponses = 0;
affichage_GMT = 0;

readRSS("http://newageastrology.forumotion.com/feed/?f=35", nb_sujets, display_text, largeur_tab, affichage_nb_reponses, affichage_GMT);
</script>

I noticed it doesn't mention the Author though (it says unknown author). And i would also like to display part of the text and the thumbnail like you do in the Latest Topis module. Is that possible? I would appreciate any suggestions..

PS: What does the display text parameter do? And what are its values? I changed 0 to 1, but didn't notice any change...

Update: I figured out display_text... the question remains for the thumbnail and the author...

Hello, any news of that? As far as i have seen what is used is a .js script saved on forumotion ( http://help.forumotion.com/rss/get_rss.js ). Does this script support displaying the author and the thumbnail?

What i want to do actually is create widgets on the portal with several categories behind. And every time there is a new article in one of those categories i want this to come forward to the portal. But i can't have it without a picture and an author. Is there any other way to do it, if not with this RSS script?
