Hi,

Is it exclusively this one user?
Does the box suggest anything, such as her username? She may have Auto-fill enabled.

You know when you register to a website/forum and u need to put in your username & email, and it has a line drop down under the box with an answer?
That's what I mean Smile

The easiest way of clearing it, is to clear the cookies of the browser, which I would suggest to clear both the cookies & cache, just to make sure it's not giving old data.

Solved Re: Member cannot send pm

Post by Daisi2 May 22nd 2012, 12:20 pm

I really dont know what is going on, I gave her the information to clear cookies and cache as per Darren's instructions which she did and still had the same problem.

My self and another administrator went into her account with her permission and pm'd each other without problem.

Whilst in there we saw all the messages to Pat from Pat it is very strange, I can only think it is something to do with her pc unless anyone else has any ideas as to why this is happening.

Thank you

This problem is now solved, so I will post here an extract from the members pm to me in case anyone else gets the problem.

"Daisi I've solved it thankyou! It was my Norton security programme which was reading the user box to fill in my name like a log in. As soon as I switched to private browsing where my Norton programme can't fill in my passwords etc. the box stayed with your name"

Thank you for your help Darren and Base.
