How does RSS select the attached picture?
Hello,
regarding RSS feed, when it is published to Facebook, i would like to ask whether there is a way for the forum to help us select which thumbnail is posted. Initialy, i thought it's up to Facebook, but then i searched Google and found this reference http://forums.sharethis.com/topic.php?id=224 which suggests you can specify it by defining an image_src next to the meta name="description". I checked out the source of a couple of pages of my forum and found there is a meta name="description" tag, but there is no image_src following, so it leaves it up to Facebook to select it; and it makes a mess of it. For example it select widgets pictures instead of the thumbnail of the actual post, or at least the author's profile picture.
Is it possible to interviene somehow and tell Facebook what we want as an image src for the meta name? Set a default for example to select i.e. the profile picture as it does when i take the URL manually and put it in a Facebook Post? Can you guys do something about it? Or is there something already?
Best regards...

Re: How does RSS select the attached picture?
oh i think you just have to choose out of the images that come up for the page on facebook.
It's a option on facebook and works the same for just about any site.
So all you can really do is choose the best image that comes up for you.
Like say you posted the link to this thread on facebook, it will do the same thing and have a number of thumbnails to choose from, So you can only select what may come up, ot just do not add any at all.

Sorry, but i don't understand...
You say i can select out of the thumbnails. Where can i do that? I use twitterfeed to supply the RSS to Facebook. I don't see any selection anywhere... Is there another way to feed the RSS to Facebook directly?
