Solved Forum Categorys and Threads Hover Color

Post by Jellydonut on June 8th 2012, 3:37 am

When I used the search bar, I didn't find any thread with the exact question as me, I'm sure this has been solved before, but oh well.
What code do I use to make it so when you hover over a thread or forum category, the background turns a different color.
Example: like on this forum http://www.webkinznation.com/
I'd like it to turn blue on my forum when you hover over the forum categories and over the threads.

One more question that's sort of off topic- Is there a way to remove the underline that appears under links when you hover over them? If there is, how do I remove it?

Try to go to your forum's CSS (Admin panel -> Display -> Pictures and colors -> Colors -> CSS Stylesheet) and add:

Code:
td.row1.over:hover,td.row2{background-color:#262626}

then go here to choose a color in hexadecimal. Replace the 262626 with the new hexa color.

Solved Re: Forum Categorys and Threads Hover Color

Post by Jellydonut on June 8th 2012, 3:57 am

Hi, thanks for the quick reply (:
It worked, but for some reason, it made the 'Posts' become highlighted even when you don't hover over it. Also, I'd like to change the color of the entire row that your hovering over, like the Forum title, Threads, Posts, Last posts, etc, not just the Forum Name section.

In the forum, every other thread is colored a different color. That's cool, but I don't really want it to do that xD
If you can, look at my forum to see what I mean, the link is on my profile.

Ok, so try:

Code:
dl:hover dt label{color:inherit}

Don't change anything in the new code.

Okay, I put it in next to the old code, nothing, then I took out the old code, nothing, then I changed the color to the color code that I wanted, and still nothing xP
Sorry I'm so difficult xD

edit- I edited the original code, I took out the row2 thing, it worked better then it did at first, but the threads don't change when you hover over them, and it's still only one part of the row that changes.

Like I said before, that code works, but it doesn't change the entire row, only the forum category part. It also didn't change threads when you hover over them. xD

To change the background color on hover so it turns a different color remove that coding and do this:

Go to AP>>Display>>Colors>>

Scroll down to "background Colors" and select a color under "Rollover color", and save.

------
To remove the underline under links add this code to your CSS stylesheet.

AP>>Display>>Colors>>CSS stylesheet>>

Code:
a:hover{
            text-decoration: none !important;
            }
            a{
            text-decoration: none !important;
            }

Any way to change the color of the hover link thing too?

Yeah I noticed it wasn't working on your forum. It should though, the way I showed you is the default way of doing it and it should work if your coding on your forum is correct. It might be related to your template issue.

The way I explained is the proper way to hover the topics and categories and it works all throughout the forum.

I actually don't see Rollover colors under Background Colors, could it be phpBB3 only?
