Solved How do you alter the skin of a forum?

Post by MichaelXD on June 8th 2012, 4:33 pm

My mom chose a default skin for our forum yesterday, I'm an admin, and I don't like this skin. The forum is http://pokemonkids.forumotion.com/ and it looks like it has Valentine's hearts. I want to change it to something more of my liking like Pokemon since that's what I was going for. Maybe you can help me find something like Michael and his sister Jovi from Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness? That'd be wonderful if I knew where to get it at.

Please and thanks. Smile

Admin Panel>Display>Skins

Then you can go to hitskin.com, make an account, and browse for theme's there. They may or may not have some pokemon theme's.

http://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/pokemon-skin-138769.htm

http://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/pokemon-country-145261.htm

http://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/pokemon-flames-149446.htm

http://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/pokemon-ongoing-flames-146798.htm

http://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/pokemon-forums-9000-vbulletin-style-158483.htm

http://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/pokemon-blue-132878.htm

http://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/pokemon-skin-132835.htm

There's a few. Just make sure it's your forum version and then once you create an account on hitskin that you the administrator of the forum installs it. You can always pick a skin that you like the look of for your forum. Then go in and change the background later to something else. Just let me know if you need help.

No problem. Just let me know if you need any help. You've got phpbb which is the same forum I use.

Another question. My mother attempted to make it phpbb but the URL says forumotion.com.

Does that still count as a phpbb?

Phpbb is the forum type. The forumotion.com has nothing to do with that. You can see your forum type at the bottom of your forum. It says phpbb just like mine.

Ok, cool. I see this is also a phpbb. Thanks. I'll ask my mom to install it if she finds it. Although we should have a permit to change it to whatever.

Install what? phpbb? It's already installed lol. That's the forum type you have. It was "installed" when she picked/set up the forum for you.

No. I don't mean that. Please don't jump to conclusions. I meant the forum skins such as changing it from Valentine's Hearts to Pokemon, something I enjoy more better.

Ohh right. Well, I figured you were the founder. I didn't realize she created the founder account. I thought you had. It's not that hard to install. She just needs to go to the site with the link of the skin you want, make an account possibly, and then install it. Since I assume she's the founder of the forum.

Edit: I just went to your forum and it's showing that the skins installed fine. You have to have been the founder of the forum for it to work. Are you not seeing the skin on your screen when you go to your forum.

You do not have to create an account on Hitskins to install themes. You create an account if you want to upload skins you make.

Is this solved?

Yes. Thanks for your help you two. I am very grateful to find at least some Pokemon theme to install.
