Did you make an announcement? Have you selected where you want the announcement displayed?

Hi runawayhorses

Yes I have been using this facility for over 3 years and never had a problem

It comes up when activated on my main page as you log into the forum

Then something is happening. You said nothing was happening. What is it exactly you want to happen?

Once I have activated the Announcement on the admin panel it will show up on the main page of the forum by either:

Activate announcements : Yes No

Announcements display : Homepage Portal All pages.Scrolling : Go left Go right Go up Go down Deactivate

This is not happening now for whatever reason like I say I have never had problems with this before

Oh I see it, its not happening anymore but it use to.

I really don't know. Have you added any coding to your forum since the last time it was working? Is the announcement message (text) the only thing that is not showing or can you see a blank space where the announcement would go?

What forum version do you have?

Well I see the announcements fine when I visit your site. However, I can emphasize with your issue, I've seen it happen on some sites I've helped and even on of my own test sites, all phpbb3 strangely too. I never found the cause, and was completely stumped, so I ended up just using a simple JS solution.

Putting this at the start of your announcement:
Code:

<script>
document.getElementById('fa_ticker_block').style.display="block";
</script>
Will ensure it is displayed properly.
