Pro Admin Getting hits from clicknetworks

Post by dotdotdot on June 13th 2012, 12:37 pm

According to google analytics, my forum is getting a large amount of hits from an advertising site called clicknetworks. As it's just advertising and not really relevant, the bounce rate from this site is about 90% so it's pointless being on there.

This isn't anything I've set up yet obviously somebody must have done. Is this something that Forum Motion have created?

I dont know, have you tried contacting google? I honestly do not know what it is or what the problem is in that case as well?

May be it's from the gooogle ad's on your forum if you have them?

The traffic is coming from www.clicksnetwork.com

Yes, it gets me another 30 or so unique visitors a day (who don't stay longer than 1 second) but the 'problem' such as it is, is that I haven't set this up and I'm wondering why someone else would be promoting my forum like this?

It's a minor issue, I know. As far as I understand, this is a site where people get paid to click on links, eg a link to my forum. So someone must have asked them to include my forum. And I'd guess someone is paying someone for this service somehow. So, who?

Yes, while it is nice to get more visitors I do care about quality rather than quantity.

I haven't set up any advertising on my site (or off it) other than the standard advertising that comes with not paying to have the ads removed.

I'm the only admin/site owner and have no moderators etc.

have you tried contacting them.
Send them all the information you gathered and ask then whats going on be cause you have never added nor wanted this service or whatever it is called that is happening.

I would think they would have to remove your link? At this point i do not understand enough about it and try to gather more info. But i would most defiantly try to contact them and provide them with all the information you can to see if your site can be removed.

Someone on your forum's probably signed your site up for it.. It's not a bad thing, more of a good thing.

I have passed this on to a pro admin to take a look at.
I still feel this matter/issue would need to be reported www.clicksnetwork.com for them to provide the information they can.

Hello,

That's not a Forumotion's service so I guess someone has registered your forum in, maybe one of your admins ?

Anyway, the only solution to have more info is to contact them.

Thanks Smile
