Domain Reward Query

So i Logged into my Admin Account and saw a message which said I have earned a reward which is "free domain name for your forum"

My question is this

If i change my domain name using the reward, Does that mean that my Forum name will change from ABC.forumotion.com to ABC.com or does it actually mean i can Change the forumotion bit and hence ABC.DEF.com ?

ABC.forumotion.com will always redirect to abc.com until the domain expires. At the end of the year, you can renew your custom domain name by buying credits [abc.com]

If you chose not to renew it, your ABC.forumotion.com will stop redirecting to abc.com & you can use the previous domain name.

So just to be sure, i can change my current forum address from ABC.forumotion.com to ABC.com till the domain expires ? And then it will return back to ABC.forumotion.com.
