News widget on portal doesn't work

Whichever forum I choose to drag news from, it won't display on the portal. Can somebody help me?

Hi

Give this a try

Go to ACP >> Modules Tab


Portal & Widgets >> Portal management
Show the portal : YES save
ok now
Structure

Add the news widget to your portal and

Number of news : Pick a number
Length of the news : pick the number of text you want
Board of the news : pick where you would like the news to come from.
Save

ok now go to the forum you wish to place the news in and post your news

If your thread is locked this will not show up on your widget

That's exactly the steps I followed, yet nothing is displayed where the widget is supposed to be.
