Solved One Thread much wider than all others in the same forum

Post by cuddlyasatiger on July 3rd 2012, 2:26 am

This thread is much wider than any other threads in the same forum; I have added
Code:
.bodylinewidth{width:85%;}.
div#wrap{width:75%;}
to the CSS Stylesheet with no luck. (fyi- lots of Gifs in the thread)

Please help. Want all threads in the same forum to be the same width. Thanks.

It should be already without needing to add any code. Post the thread URL so we can have a look.

Yeah but shouldn't that just be cutoff and not expand the width of the topic thread? I know with videos it would be cutoff and pics will too if you don't have a resize value in the AP.

Now it's just the first page of posts that is ridiculously wide. Guess this confirms it's one of the images?? Here's the link again

I looked at it and I don't understand that at all. Pics and videos should not expand the width of the topics anywhere even if they are too wide, and I didn't see any doing that. Considering you are using phpbb2 I would guess you made some kind of change in the template allowing it to expand even though its not necessary to expand. And I can not find any consistency with it, and I do not see any pictures or videos that might be making that expansion happen. So unless someone can come up with a solution I would reinstall the theme.

The pic is 800x533 so that is not too wide. The problem must be in your template. I'm not sure what that pic is doing it the topic sections at all it seems like it should only be on the home page, but the pic is not too wide.

It was fine until the poster tried to edit the width of a scroll box in a different post of hers in the same thread as this pic was originally. I don't know how to change the template, but I'm just going to leave that pic in its own topic for now. If you do figure anything about it out, will you please let me know? Thanks again.

One more thing, if the scroll box is causing that you can delete it in his profile page as it appears to be a signature. Its very possible that is what is causing the problem.

Do you allow HTML in posts? If so, some invalid HTML could cause this sort of issue.

Yea, we do. I don't know a whole lot about html code. The other invalid (in the sense they didn't work or weren't entered correctly) html codes just stayed in as if they were text.
