Solved Some Usernames are unavailable

Post by lebentrotzmigräne July 6th 2012, 6:27 pm

I have a problem. I have people who want to register themselves with me, but there always comes the announcement "The pitching name is already awarded". However, my forum is quite new and nobody has registered itself in it up to now. Only 1 woman. What can I make? User's name: Melody and Nicky are the names which should be awarded supposedly.

This happens to alot of people. it is easy to fix. Just have that person join under a different name and then have them tell you the username they want and then all you have to do is go to

ACP --> Users & Groups --> Search Users --> Click on their Username --> Then change it to what they want it to!

Solved Re: Some Usernames are unavailable

Hi,

To answer the problem;
The reason is because their username is a common name used by spammers, according to Google & Microsoft.
You can disallow such a block via:
Admin panel >> General > Security > Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames. : = YES & Save.
