help required regards legal/ data protection/ banned members Empty help required regards legal/ data protection/ banned members

Hi all,

Got a quick question for you all.

We have had a member who has been banned 9 times now for various offences (including duplicate accounts!).

Anyway, he keeps rejoining and due to the high volumes of traffic, we dont spot him until its too late.

We cannot ban the IP address as he shares it with other prolific (and very good posters).

The first time he registered with us, he used his work email address. So we know where he works and his location - would an email to him suggesting that if he were to continue rejoining, we would have to contact his works IT department to block access be a breach of data security?

Is this getting us into a legal mess?

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to deal with this issue?

Cheers

Probably, you should ask this to your lawyer who can guide you correctly.
