Is there a widget for Status Updates?

I would like to make one of my forums into a widget. Is this possible? If so, could someone tell me how to?

there is a widget that says who is online already in the ACP if that is what you mean ? but other then that no sorry there is not

You can just create a profile field, in which they can into their profile and edit.

To display a feed is not possible without creating the system externally. So you'd need to know some server-side scripting language to do that.

The first image is possible and has been created on a few forums. (frankly there are two people I know of who have created this, me being one.), you'll need to know of HTML forms and AJAX technologies.

The first image is the same as the second image basically.

The status is transfered to something like the second image.

Yeah like rideem and LG have said server-side scripting will be needed such as AJAX. me and LG had this convo about a month ago. I have been trying to do something like that. in widget form. but all i could do was create the field and it displays whenever someone makes a post.

though the widget does not actually work. since the code isnt serverside. but it works when you go to profile. and it changes once saved within profile. if you want to know how let me know

AJAX is not server-side scripting, AJAX is Javascript. And as stated, you can create what is displayed in the first image, but not what is displayed in the second image.

Ok AJAX isnt server-side, but what was it you told me? that you couldnt use AJAX on here, and had to host it somewhere else correcT?

No, the issue with using AJAX is it sends a request to the server. Forumotion has set a limit on requests made fro same IP within a time span, so AJAX should be used sparingly.
