Adding importance level to posts

Post by BellatrixVampite on August 9th 2012, 1:30 pm

Sometimes there are problems that need to be solved asap. Othertimes, there are problems that aren't too big and aren't as high priority. My suggestion is that, when first posting and also editing a thread, the owned can select an "importance level".

For example, if my site went all black and everything went wrong, all the links went invisible and my content left, I could mark it as a "High Priority" thread. This could be through the colour of the text in the header, or a small circle with the colour next to the header.

The three colours that are usually associated with "High", "Mid" and "Low" are:

Green/Low
Orange/Mid
Red/High

Sorry, I voted no because I'm sure, a lot of users will misuse this function to advise the support team of themselves or rather their poblems. If anything, only the moderators, managers and admins should be able to choose such a "post level".

I have also voted no.

This would be very unfair. Each member equally deserves the opportunity to receive support, no matter how 'urgent' their problem.

When someone has a solution to your problem, they will reply in your topic with it.

I'm with you all on this.
It's a no sorry as the rest have said it will only become a mess members all think there problem is one of them ones that need to be fixed right away how ever big or small so there will be all reds and nothing else.

The set up we have now with Solved, In progress, and Pro admin, is all we need and the staff can mark that if they think the problem is up there in the top priority and needs a tech or pro admin. as you can see they have a color code to them so this is really just what you have asked for only you don't get to pick you only get the pick of 2 solved and completed.

I voted no, sorry. I just think everyone would put Urgent on theres to get an answer as fast as possible. And, as said earlier, all questions are of the same need; everyone should be answered no matter how 'Urgent' their problem is.

I also voted 'no'. Each member will misuse this as they think their problems are extremely important. Some will more than likely think their problems are more important than everyone else.

I think this might be okay to be used by staff such as administrator's, moderator's, and the like. But not by regular members.

My vote still stands at a no. The only 'priority' for problems is when they require immediate technical assistance. Staff members are able to pass up problems to our pro administrator to take a look at, but only if it's absolutely necessary.

I think the current support system is fine and that adding any importance levels will complicate it.

As for the reasons stated above, this is not going to happen.

Suggestion refused.
