Signature options not available and signature not showing on posts

So I've read both of these threads and since I'm still can't figure this out I'm beginning to believe I'm just dense...

I had been using Chrome and so I thought my problem would be solved switching to Firefox 13 but alas, no... I also tried IE 8 for good measure but again, no. Specifically, the option/check-box to attach a signature when creating a post will not show up. It does for some users but not for me. My profile preference to always attach a signature is selected though it doesn't work. I've tried switching between editing modes but that doesn't seem to change the 'options' for the post. When creating a new post, replying to or editing an existing post I have three check-box options available.

Can someone tell me what I'm missing here. It seems like it will be something obvious but the solution still escapes me.

Your Signature

Signature settings are to be changed in your profile settings as well (in the top navigation bar) - just switch to the "Signature" tab there. The signature space is limited to 500 characters, this cannot be increased. You can use bbCode and HTML as well in your sig, if it has been allowed by the administrators in the admin panel (General >> Forum >> Messages & Email >> Allow HTML / BBCode).

My Signature is not displayed, what should I do?

In general, there are two settings that could be the reason for your sig not to be displayed. The first one is in your admin panel, where you can allow or deny the use of signatures on a global level. Go to "Users & Groups / Users / User Options" and set "Allow Signatures" to YES.

The second option can be found in your personal profile settings. Go to "Profile >> Preferences" and enable the option "Always attach my signature". Your signature should now be attached to all posts you make, if you actually have content in it.

Note: On some forum versions, it's possible that you still won't see your signatures on posts you have already made, although you have activated all necessary options. There is no other way to change this than to edit those posts and mark the box "attach my signature to this post" and save.

Yep I sure have. I added content to my signature in my personal profile. I also enabled the option to 'always attach my signature' but it won't appear. I know that signatures are generally enabled on the forum because others use them successfully. Even if I didn't select to always attach, from what I understand, I should have the option to attach it on a post by post basis but I don't see that option.
