Solved Make "Register" link in the main page/first page

Post by hotelpadi on August 27th 2012, 8:04 am

Hi Forum Experts,

I am newbie in forumotion, my forum url is reviews.hotelpadi.com.

If you see my screen capture, there is no register link for new user to register in my main page/first page. Can I add one, so it's easier for the user to register.

Thank you for assistance.

Best Regards,

David

Hello,

Yes; you can do something similar, which is to activate the login pop-up.

Please go to:

1) ACP.
2) Advanced mode.
3) General tab.
4) Forum box > Configuration.
5) Scroll down to nearly half the page and you'll notice various options in a specific box which has its title labeled as; Login pop-up.
6) Activate: tick as yes. You can fill up the next options.
7) Afterwards, hit save.

So once a new guy (guest) comes to your forum, a login pop-up will automatically appear, you can obviously type anything in the login pop-up, as it's one of the options I've told you about, at the last of the window (login pop-up), there are three options; login, register and do not display again.

Good luck.

If you don't want a pop up there's also a log-in widget already existing on the site that you can add.

Go to ACP --> Modules --> Forum Widgets Management

Then scroll down the page to the section 'existing widgets'. Drag the one called 'Log In' to wherever you want it on your site and remember to save.

The good thing with this widget is that as well as logging in or registering, it also has a link for people who've forgotten their username or password.
