Solved Forum Color Change

Post by Asriel on October 10th 2012, 2:05 am

Whenever I add color to the "Row Line Color" option, it turns my forum that same color. Here look....

THEN...

Anyone knows how to solve this problem. I want to display row lines but not the whole forum being that red color. Thanks.

The background isn't the same color of the row lines, your background color for that is in another section above that titled "Background Color". If that doesn't change it look in your CSS stylesheet for this. Just find a code that looks like that and change the numbers to what color you want.

Code:
body {
background-color: #000000;
}

Well, whenever I wish to display rows in my forum. It turns the whole site to that same color, whatever it might be. I don't want the site to look so shaded in red or whatever color I choose.

@Runaway Horses: The code didn't work. Don't know why?

What color do you want the background to be? Give me the hex number and I'll make the code for you so you can add it to your stylesheet.

You can find color hex number here. Its a six digit number:

If you want the background black add this code to your CSS stylesheet:
Code:
body {
    background-color: #000000 !important;
    }

If you want to change the row color then change the color in the box as shown in your screenshot and save your settings.

I am not trying to change the background. I am trying to turn the row lines to orange without the whole site turning the same color.

You are saying it changes the "whole site" to a different color, could you be more specific? From what I see from your screenshots the row line color is red #FF0000 and your Body line color is a shade of orange, and your category background appears to be a shade of Maroon, and your category border appears to be an image with a gradient effect. Your question seems to be directed at your category background color that appears to be a shade of Maroon when you say it changes to the row line color which is red. But its not red its maroon. When you say the "whole site" changes colors that isn't being very specific and is hard to accurately diagnosis your question, furthermore when you say you are "trying to turn the row lines to orange (your screenshot shows you have the row line color to red #FF0000) without the 'whole site' turning the same color" doesn't make any sense because only the body line is orange and your row line is red and the category background is a shade of Maroon judging by your screenshots.

Sorry, what I mean is that when I change the row line color. The categories become shade of maroon. So, the shade only disappears when I get rid of the 'row line color'.

OK, thats some kind of code going on in your CSS stylesheet causing it to overflow like that. What it is I have no idea but my guess is it came with a theme you installed, never seen that before. Perhaps some here knows what it is.

That looks fine, maybe its in your template. Have you added anything to it? When did this start happening or has your forum always looked like that?

You can try adding this code to your CSS stylesheet, I'm not sure if it will work but it works in Invision, you can try it:

Code:
table.ipbtable tfoot td {
background-color:#000000 !important;
}

It has never been like this before. Just started appearing couple days ago. I have edited only 1 template and that is to move and center the avatar and ranks. here's a snapshot.

So this just changed overnight for no apparent reason and not immediately after you edited the template, right?

Just to let you know, I have gotten rid of all CSS and Javascript and I even changed the theme; yet the color thingy is still appearing.

It must be your computer or browser because your forum table doesn't look anything like your screenshot. It looks normal like a dark brown color when I viewed the page.

You should try viewing your forum on another browser first.

The only reason it doesn't look like that is because I got rid of row line color. If I put it back it will still look like it did before. And yes, I did see it on different browsers. It's not working there either.
