Solved Can't access ANY Forumotion sites from my home IP?

Post by CopperTrillium October 13th 2012, 10:57 pm

Hey there,

Title says it all. I can get on Forumotion sites at work or on a proxy server, but not from my home IP. When I try to load my forum, the 'main' Forumotion site, the support forum, the handful of other forums I visit, or ANY Forumotion site, my browser gives me a 'not found' error. Like, "Google Chrome couldn't find forumotion.com". I have had this problem before on one of my non-Forumotion websites (I managed to ban myself from my own server once. Yeah. I have really fantastic luck.), so I'm somewhat sure I'm blocked. However, I'm not overly familiar with Forumotion, so I could most definitely be wrong.

I should note that I'm fairly sure I haven't done anything that could be considered a threat. No attempted hacking/cracking. No spamming. I haven't made any forum owners/admins/moderators mad enough to ban me. At least, I hope not. I don't know if you can get banned for too many unsuccessful login attempts, but if so, that's possible. I have been known to forget my password from time to time. Razz

Am I correct in the assumption that I'm banned? Is there any way I can get unbanned?

Thanks,

I use Frontier. I've never had any problems with them, but that doesn't really mean anything. Razz

Nothing is wrong at your end. ForuMotion is just experiencing some technical difficulties from the servers which is affecting every single forumotion forum.

Yeah I have the same problem. Only way I can get to https://help.forumotion.com/forum is by Google Chrome. Mozilla,or IE don't work.

My ability to access one forum in particular has been erratic for a few months, but I could generally clear various caches and be able to load it fine afterwards. Cache-clearing no longer works.

I first noticed that I couldn't access Forumotion sites yesterday evening, at about 7:00 PM CST.

@iLeo, I can't access it on Chrome or Safari, nor on their iOS counterparts. I haven't tried it on Firefox yet, but I'll give it a shot when I get home this evening.

Shouldn't all owners get an explanatory email when this happens?

I have resolved the problem by restarting my modem. I kind of wish I'd done that earlier...

Thank you all for your help!
