Would like to hide a certian group but..

Hi!
On my site I have made a special group for one of my friends so she has a colored user name.
I would like for her name to be colored but I dont want the group to show up at the bottom.
In my CSS I added the code

  a[href="/(group name)"] {
  display: none;}

But the little [ ] box still is there. Is there any way i can get rid of the [] but still have her name colored? It is ok if the [] gets deleted around all the other groups.
