Auto Lock/Spilt control Empty Auto Lock/Spilt control

Post by OldSkoolz March 23rd 2007, 8:31 pm

sorry if this has already been suggested but I didn't see it anywhere :p

anyway.. I would like to propose we get rid of or be able to control the auto/lock spilt of topics at certain number of posts (currently 990) this can be rather annoying as we typically have one thread we chat in on a regular basis and others that just are temporary.

I don't think it should be got rid of, but there should be an option to be able to turn it on or off.

It is useful in some areas of our site (for example RPG, because new users might be intimidated by such a long thread), but for our general chat thread it wouldn't really matter if it didn't split.

I'm not going to vote either way, because I'm not bothered, but I don't think it should go away altogether.

I think avoid the split is better. I was here when, at the beginning there was no split. Ok, the topicw had many pages butr a moderaotr can lock it and open a new one, that's like it on a phpBB forum Wink

I think it should be optional. I like the split. I don't like it when there is a TON of pages. I usually split topics at 200.

I vote we have the ability to have control over it. It is highly irritating if the thread is one that needs to go over 50 pages, such as text based RPGs, massive spam threads, topic clubs/teams/crews, etc.

Of course the poll asks for the option to control it, those who like the way it automatically locks/splits don't even have to change a thing.
