Huge problem with a "change background"-script Empty Huge problem with a "change background"-script

Post by Scatterbrain October 31st 2012, 5:45 pm

Hi all!

I am trying my best to use a tutorial i found at avacweb (using the codes made my AEdesign)
Link to thread: http://www.avacweb.com/t513-change-background-theme-selector-help
It works almost perfect at my site, but i have a huge problem that makes my logo and navbar change position, making it impossible too read the menu... it looks ugly etc

Ive tried changing padding, margin for both the colorthingy as for the logo. When i change the position for the logo, it makes the hoverbotton disappear (making it impossible to change background).

I am completely lost.

Link to my "testforum" is http://testforfrifranskuld.swedishforum.net/ ... I think you all see the problem right away...

Help would be sooo appreciated!

Can you give me a link to the themes you used as your other skins? It may be a setting within those themes that is causing the issue.

First of all, it isn't a tutorial... So it may not be relevant to your board or needs.

Secondly, you'll see the post from me in that thread works now, and no offence to AEDesign, but is generally much better and more stable. I also think you'll find it much quicker and easier to edit to your liking.

Lastly, feel free to ask in the thread... probably would have been best to ask the author of the code... they always know the most about their code...

Its very relevant for my needs in fact! Ive been looking for something like that for a long time. Dont have the info to do it myself yet (and probobly never will...) And yeah your right, its no totorial...

I tried your code as well, yesterday or so i think... but i didnt manage to get it to work then, witch i almost did with the code AEdesign wrote at your site. So i dont know... I asked him if i could place the backgroundswitcher at another place instead of the logostrip in that thread... It feels rude to PM him and ask him to help me fix my problem. Razz But i soooooooooo want to yep.

Can I also get a link to your site? I have used the one from LG and it worked great and was very easy to keep on top off, I also have a suggestion for how to make this work better, which involves you creating a test site with the skin you want yo use, you then position everything how you wish to and copy the css link code into the changer, this will allow you more control rather then using a skin. You can use something like Fire bug to get the css link or you could provide myself or someone else with a link to the test site and we could pick it up for you.
