Completed Links in my forum (question)

Post by Hellgar on November 6th 2012, 12:38 am

Sorry for the question! I search the forum here, but I couldn't find an answer in my problem. I hope that I post my question in the right place...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, in the forum I made, the links of the categories and forums don't have on their URL the title of the category or the forum but the word instead! I searched all my administration Panel but I couldn't find a solution.

What I mean?
In here is your URL " http://help.forumotion.com/forum "
In here is one forum of your forum: " http://help.forumotion.com/f46-other-problems "
The thing is that: /f46-other-problems
In my forum says only "forum" or "category" or "topic".
P.s: My forum link is in my profile. I post it also here: http://onepiecedream.forumgreek.com/

Thank you in advance for your prompt reply and your help!

Sorry about that! :/

Let me explain you with examples.
On my forum, the link:
onepiecedream.forumgreek.com/
The link of a category:
onepiecedream.forumgreek.com/c1-category
The link of a forum (sub-category):
onepiecedream.forumgreek.com/f170-forum
The link of a topic:
onepiecedream.forumgreek.com/t79-topic

On your forum and some others forums:
Your link:
help.forumotion.com/forum
The link of a category of yours:
i didn't find one Razz
The link of a forum (sub-category) of yours:
help.forumotion.com/f45-forum-design-appearance-help
The link of a topic of yours:
help.forumotion.com/t93820-general-rules

On the last part of my links, are the creation number number and the words -category, -forum, -topic.
On yours, are the creation number and the english words that exist in the title of the category/forum/topic.
How can I do that too? Or what I have done wrong?

I hope this way, you will understand what I mean!

Thank you again for your time!

P.s: This topic maybe should be in the "Administration Panel, Credits, & Domain Name Problems". I don't know where it fits better.

That is how some forums' links are shown. Is this causing any issues on your forum?

There are no issues. I just prefer to change it!
If this can change, it will be great. Can I do something? There is any way? I prefer titles to be shown on the links...
If it's difficult for you or the time you have is not much, then ok, i can withstand it! Razz

Just checked one of the topics... don't you think the Greek part is the reason why the characters won't appear...

I agree with you. I thought so. But when I create a topic with english title, I also have the "problem". ( http://onepiecedream.forumgreek.com/t88-topic )
A friend of mine, who also has a greek forum, doesn't have the same "problem". Can I post his forum link?
In his forum, whenever the title is in greek, the link is with the word -forum etc. Otherwise, the english part of the title goes on the link.

If I should start creating the first topics with english titles to have the links based on titles by default, please tell me so. But only if you are 100% sure about this. If you don't know an easy and fast way, then, I will continue my forum, as it is.

Thank you again and sorry for asking, but I wished for an easy solution.
Tell me if I must put a "Complete" Icon on the topic.

Best suggestion I could come up would be to actually change your forum to an English version and write titles in English and the contents in of the topics in Greek :/
