Solved New pm message to glow in red

Post by Nekare on Mon 19 Nov - 18:59

First topic message reminder :

Hello.
Some of my members for my forum, thinks it is difficult to see when they get a new private message. I haven't made any icons for the bar, so is it any codes or something that can make the new message to glow up?

I hope someone can help me fast. :s

The nth child selector route would be wrong anyway since there is nothing being specific to having a 'new' message. So even if there is no new message it will affect the 5th link. And for guests... You'd get a random link like memberlist or FAQ styled differently lol.

I'd suggest doing something like this:
Code:
#i_icon_mini_new_message {
  display: block;
  width: 50px; //width of your image.
  height: 50px; //height of your image
  background: url(URL OF YOUR IMAGE) no-repeat top left;
}

The #i_icon_mini_new_message element is an image which is why it can't have it's color changed, but you can set its background image. However since its currently only 1px by 1px for navbar using only text then the height and width must be set too.
