Post by Holle on Wed Nov 21, 2012 7:57 am

Hi all,

Been trying to work this out myself and got to the point were I got even more confused.

Heres a pic of the problem...

As you can see the text is all screwed up.
It only does this when I place text inside quotes.

Hope someone can help!

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Post and accesable url to the topic where your problem appears. Thanks! (: How do you mean the text screwed up? Not beeing lined?
If it's that it's the WYSIWYG mode doing it. You need to turn of the A/a button on your text editor.

Yes not properly lined and turning off WYSIWYG mode doesn't change anything. The same problem occurs.

Thanks anyway.

Look at the difference, first post is A/a off and second on.
http://tikitiki.forumcroatian.com/t3-tetetettetete

Check the explanation for bugs when it's ON http://help.forumotion.com/t84132-please-fix-the-text-editor-bugs-especially-wysiwyg-mode?highlight=WYSIWYG

If you copied a portion of text from another website (like wikipedia or a blog) and pasted it into your text editor, it looks fine. Now click "preview" and you will notice that your text is wrapped into a thin column of text instead of stretching across the entire body of the post as it should. (This bug occurs when using Firefox web browser.)

How weird... I remade the exact same post with WYSIWYG turned off and got the exact same result.

I have to confess I'm an absolute noob at this.

Don't do it with a post that is already messed up. Do it with a new post and if it works keep it off. If it doesn't work send me a link and a test account VIA PM so I can try?

Not the AP settings but the small A/a button on your quick replay must be off. Like this::

That was indeed turned on, but how does that affect WYSIWYG settings?

And is there no way to permanently switch that off from ap?

A/a is aWYSIWYG on and off button for each member can turn it off individually I think and the AP option is for default settings. It wont be on by default.

Well that indeed did the trick, thank you so very much.

But basicly I have to switch it off manually with each post? Theres no general setting to switch it off altogether?

Affraid not. I have to turn it off constantly. Confused

Edit; Ah I just realised it was the icon above the text box. I was clicking on the one inside the box. So sorry.

Yes and no... It solves the problem of the weird lining when posting, however I do miss the icons for images and such to be fair.

AP > General > Messages and emails > Configuration > Activate extended message editor : YES
Your editor will than be like here. You can't have both. Either this one or that one that swiches on and off with A/a. (:
