Transfering domain Empty Transfering domain

I read the announcement about transferring domains, but I'm not sure I understand...
Can someone tell me exactly what would happen if I transfer my domain to hostgator - on hostgator it says my domain is transferable.

You will just transfer the domain name there. Then for renewal purposes you will need to go to hostgator & renew it there.
