PNG Profile picture

Is it possible to have a PNG picture, as your face for your profile/user?
Like this one:

Don't really understand this.

You know, that photo i posted, when I use it as my avatar/profile picture on my site, its having a black background where it originally should have been transparent. oo..

I had the same problem One problem is the size of the picture. If you upload the picture in original size, it is too big and will be resized by the forum-software, and because of this resizing the transparent background will become black. If you resuze the picture with a graphics programme on the PC (eg. gimp), and save it as a gif, there's no problem

Yea I think I posted in the wrong subforum too.. but I though it was somthing about Suggestion and java script and all that x_x..
I will poste the outcome if your advise doesn't success.

This is a little bit strange... I don't know an other way to solve the problem.
Maybe a staff member can solve the problem?
My avatar here and the avatar in my forum have transparent backgrounds, and it works ...

I took the Image and put the url to the one who said: Url for an image from another server and it worked so you wasn't completely wrong ^^
