Problem with width of forum

Post by becomeelite on December 7th 2012, 12:15 am

So ive been having a problem lately with the width of my forum. I would like my forum to auto-size to the width of my browser, like just about every website ive looked at does, so that way nothing is cut off and you have to scroll to the right to see it.

When im in Firefox, every part of the site seems to be to wide and i have to scroll to the right to see my widgets. As shown in this picture:

Too wide:

When im in Internet Explorer, the Homepage (www.informationkeptquiet.com) is fine, but when you go to the forums part of my site (www.informationkeptquiet.com/forums), its to wide and you have scroll to the right. When you click on any section in my forum (i.e http://www.informationkeptquiet.com/f4-world-news-events), that page is almost to small. Lol...so i have to small, to big, and perfect...how do i get it all to be perfect? >.<

Too wide:

Too small:

Ive messed around with the forum configuration width part in the admin panel, but it seems like no matter what number i put it is still not right. Right now its set at 50%. But ive put 100% and it has no effect, ive even put 0% and it does nothing.

Any help? Or code or something i need to put in?

Thanks

I checked out each of the links you gave and they all show perfectly in mine. I'm using Firefox as a browser. IE is known for forum problems.

there's deffinetly a problem..ive logged in on multiple various computers and there is a width problem for sure.

Is there a CSS code that i can add that would make all pages be required to be the same width?

Right now, like the homepage is fine, but the main forum part is way wide and you need to scroll way to the right to see the widgets, unless you do full screen firefox.

Picture 1 and 2 are too wide, and picture 3 is just a little too narrow. I basically want it to look like picture 3, except maybe a little wider. You can deffinelty see in picture 1/2 that the widgets on the right are getting cut off

Would you like it if I just provide you with a Forum Width adjustment tool? It's easier to use because you'll just have to click on it to resize your forum page to your liking.

Also take note, some of the variables added there might not work due to the general setting of the page, nonetheless, it still stretches Smile.

Will that adjust the width for the forum for all users?

I want to change the actual width of the forum across the board for everyone, without them having to do anything.
