Moderation Panel (alterantive to Admin Panel)*

Post by Raph95 on February 2nd 2008, 3:25 pm

First topic message reminder :

So, what do you think? Same like Admin CP, just less features! For exapmle, you have GFX Mod, and he will have only Styles in his "Moderator CP"!

You do technically have a moderator panel (Its located bottom left on any forum you moderate) but its just got the mod tool options, nothing exciting.

I really do not see a need for a moderator panel.

If it was made right with IP searching, Ban controls, profile modifications and other things like Vbulletins Moderator Panel has and the admin could set permissions for it then it would be useful.

SLGrayI really do not see a need for a moderator panel.
We do need an original phpbb3 moderation panel with all possible features which phpbb.com offers. From user notes, full warning system, advanced and improved IP option, topic awaiting approval option as well to block bots, changing topic poster option, merge topic without splitting before you are able to merge and etc.

Forumotion misses all these MCP options.

I voted Yes also. It is nice if we can share some tasks in Admin panel to moderator (not all Admin panel).

My thoughts exactly.

@Derri wrote:If it was made right with IP searching, Ban controls, profile modifications and other things like Vbulletins Moderator Panel has and the admin could set permissions for it then it would be useful.

In this case, yes!

it is not because FM lacks em' that we need em Wink

But a task division should be effective, ex withon the chatbox management for ex.
I won't vote, because I have no clear cut idea, and as the author of this poll is banned, he can't respond.

So i'll pass on this one.

Unless, I find a simmary argument which sums up the importance of this "so-called" MCP to assist the "ACP" where mods can divide parts of the admin tasks... (banning, for ex. if mods do it they can then control it?)

But giving them too much power they can (and will) abuse it.

I really wish they would implement phpbb.com moderation panel. It's so advanced and so many features including warning system, post approvals and denials, log history of moderation actions, changing topic author name, etc, etc. Also the ability to change the user signature, add/remove bans. It's a need to have feature for large boards.
