Moderation Panel (alterantive to Admin Panel)*

Post by Raph95 on February 2nd 2008, 3:25 pm

First topic message reminder :

So, what do you think? Same like Admin CP, just less features! For exapmle, you have GFX Mod, and he will have only Styles in his "Moderator CP"!

What more could you give to a moderator that he doesn't already have
what would you add to a panel? eg the right to change skins add or delete forums
close the site when they want to, ban each other, pay the bills instead of the admin
,Laughing .......it's a silly question....... I voted no Laughing

The mods already have their little moderation panel.

This has also been suggested hundreds of time, and has been rejected...there is nothing else to give them.

Voted No (Again)

I voted no. Where`s the catch ? From my moderators i want :

- editing member`s posts
- locking
- moving
- deleting
- banning

And all this can be easily and immediately done with what they have now.

Thats the exact same with mine, and they have what they need.

Enough said. They can do this quite efficiently with what they have now. Why make the techies go to this much trouble when the mods can already perform their duties with what they already have?

Re: Moderation Panel (alterantive to Admin Panel)*

Post by Riverdog on February 3rd 2009, 6:41 pm

I voted yes but I'm not sure a mod panel is needed. I would just like to have more control over what Membersgroup does what. If I create a group called "Assist Admin" I would like them to be able to add & delete members from a Group and edit avatars & sigs. I'd be happy with more options in the permissions for Groups.

Moderators should moderate, but assistant admins should not have full access to the admin panel. Right now there are only a few options that only the founder can access, everything else any member that is added as admin can access.

I don't want assistant admins to be able to add & delete categories or change the design format. I do want them to be able to help maintain the everyday functionalities such as edit profiles & add members to an open group.

I actually came across this topic looking for the Moderation Control Panel >_>

I admin'd a phpbb3 board last year, and I found it really useful. Notably, there was an option in the mod CP that allowed you to remove shadow topics when you didn't need them anymore.

Screen shots (this is from a dummy board I have):

All members with moderator or higher status could see this link:

Post by Rok on March 21st 2009, 2:01 pm

I love this idea, however, there is already a little Moderation Panel for Mods. Another thing, this doesn't really seem right for Mods. If you make a Moderation Panel, then the other staff that you amde (like Arcade Manager, Newsletter Team, Graphic Designer, etc) would be able to access it as well.
I won't vote until soon.
