Solved Topic header issue.

Post by Leov on December 10th 2012, 11:01 pm

So, i recently updated the Roleplay forums I'm admin of to PHPBB3.

Everything was fine until we decided we'd like a update on the style and background.

And then this happened:

Spoiler:

It seems to wrap around instead of stretch, the blue should be at the end on the right side and the red at the end on the left side.

So, i went and tried various different sizes and it continued.

Eventually i went and called for help of a friend and he suggested i do a element search, which i sent him and neither he or i could find the problem there either.
Spoiler:

I was uploading the images via tinypic.com and then placing them into the image part of the temporary theme which has been created.

The picture was 1000x40 later reduced down to 680x40 and even at one point went up too 1500/2000x40.

Spoiler:

Images posted in spoilers.

At the moment I've reverted back to the old forum layout but if needed i can place them back on.

Hope you can help!
- Leov.

Update: Theme updated to help show what the problem is.

http://tvcrpforums.forumotion.net/

Edit: Okay, now the background on a default layout has parts of the old layout and i never told it to do such a thing, I've no idea whats going on with it anymore as well as the new icons i placed for the menu buttons are doubled up with writing and picture.

(Won't let me link it, sorry )

Somebody please help!!

Just install a fresh skin directly from hitskin.com Preferably a phpbb3 version initially. Once that is done, if you want you can install any other skin.

That takes us onto a whole new problem, to do that i need to be the founder, which I'm not, the founder left the game and the forums a very long time ago leaving myself and one other in charge.

Is there anyway to change the founder without starting over?

And now when i revert back to the old theme it has parts of what i tried to upload even though I've deleted all the pictures and such like.

Read this thread.

Are you sure you went to hitskin.com & tried to install the skin & it didn't let you?

Display>Skin>Themes Management
Restore the skin
Try that thing if it works.

Okay, back to the old theme the old admin created. but also downgraded back to phpbb2.

Tried to change it to phpbb3 and it takes on a mash of the two skins and any other skin it can find.

As i said installing of skins should be done directly from hitskin.com
Try getting your account as the founder account to get rid of this problem.
