Solved gallery storage

Post by Richardr on December 16th 2012, 11:07 pm

How do we empty the gallery's storage, as we are full, and deletions don't seem to work?

Thanks.

Login into servimg.com using your details & delete unwanted images from the root folder.

Could you take a screenshot of the message when you press the host an image button?

I think you have to purchase more Gallery storage space or go into the Gallery and use the "Moderation" button to delete photos you do not want to free up space.

Solved Re: gallery storage

Post by Richardr on December 22nd 2012, 11:02 am

Seems I have to try again, so:

1. First I asked (in another thread which got deleted) how to empty the backup folder for the gallery. There was no accurate suggestion.

2. Then, I was given invalid instructions for emptying my gallery storage folder, since we don't use servimg.com.

3. Then everyone seemed surprised we host via http://r20.imgfast.net, but no one showed us how to delete images form there.

4. Then we were asked to provide a screenshot of the error message, which we did.

4. Then it was suggested we use the "moderation" button, which also didn't work.

So again, as we are using phpBB2 can someone give a clear answer as to how to empty the backup folder to free up gallery space.

Thank you.

I'm confused here. Are we talking about the "Host an image" button for the "reply" box, or the "Gallery" button on the Navbar?

The latter. The gallery button itself works just fine. The problem occurs when trying to either upload images to the gallery or delete images from the backup folder (see my prior post of the screenshot of the error message).

I just deleted one of mine to see what happened and it was "deleted" and moved to the "Backup folder". I don't know how to access this folder. I think you have to buy more storage space with credits to add more photos, sorry Richardr. (I may be wrong though and another member may be able to point you in the right direction).

Thanks mermaid. The ability to delete photos (from the backup folder), rather than add them, is the priority for us at the moment.

Hello,

Everyone here try to help you, so please be patient.
And I've asked you your forum's URL and you didn't answer either. I'm a pro-admin so I'm able to find out what is your issue by checking your forum.

Also, the service imgfast.net is the storage service that Forumotion uses to host the new smilies or the avatars of forums.
From what I see in your screenshot, your issue has nothing to do with imgfast. You've simply reached the storage limit of your gallery and you need to purchase some additional spaces through your Admin Panel.

Hi Leeloo,

Thanks for your contribution and you were right, we did need to purchase more credits, so now it's all fixed.

Happy New Year!
