Multiple codes for one smiley Empty Multiple codes for one smiley

Post by Ivo94 February 1st 2013, 03:02

Smilies makes the forums look better, I think. But some members tend to add a 'Smile' as '=)' or '(:', etc.
This doesn't result the smiley to show up for all variations.

Maybe it's a good idea to be able to add multiple codes for one smiley image?
Would be great!

It won't hurt adding it. However, the users that tend to add it do it purposely In my opinion. If they really wanted to use that smiley, they would anyway click on it.

A way around that if you really want to do it is upload the same smiley as many times as needed for all the different code variations people use most for the smileys. But I agree with Sanket that some people do it purposely because I am one of those people that sometimes choose not to use a smliey emoticon but rather the text, and I like the option for one not to show up, and I think other people do too, and that is why on my forum the smileys codes are not the regular way of doing a smiliey you have to go out of your way to put one there.

But I'm going to vote yes on this its not a bad idea.. Smile

Thanks for the replies! But if you upload it multiple times it also shows up multiple times on the smilies tab in the editor.
I see the opinions are mixed - I hope it will be possible in the future if it's not too hard to program! Smile

Thanks!
