I know if you remove the color code completely from the box and save it will remove the color entirely and you can see your background image. Is there anyway to change just the opacity of the category background and not have it completely transparent?

Yes, you can look into adding a semi transparent image for the category background.
Its not about color , its about pictures you are using for category , opacity of that picture is small.
He may not be using a picture for the category background. As the OP mentioned he removed the color from the category and the background was then showing, so if he adds a background "picture" instead of the color he can use a semi-transparent "picture" for the category background, and thus get the effect he was inquiring about.@Akkii wrote:Its not about color , its about pictures you are using for category , opacity of that picture is small.
Well i inspected elements , and saw that category is using picture for its background , so i don't know
