Solved Category Problem!

Post by koolkat96 January 5th 2013, 7:15 am

Hello!

Just some hours back, I created a new category, named "Member's Lounge'' in my forum.
But the problem is that it is not being see in the forum!

This is my second category but my 1st category has 2 forums and Member's Lounge has only 1 forum, when I try the preview my forum then the Member's Lounge category is not being seen and the new forum which belongs to the Member's Lounge is being seen but the forum is in a different category, a category that is my first one!!!

Any problems with my forum? Here's a screenshot of the problem :-

This is my new category, I created hours back :-
Category Problem! Ss_of_11

This is my forum with the forum that belong to Member's Lounge :-
Category Problem! Ss_of_12

I want my category here :-
Category Problem! Ss_of_14

Any problems with my forum?

No problem with you forum, a problem in what you did Wink Delete your category shown above. Then click the Add at the very top of it all. Do not click the Add next to any other Forums, this will create a sub category within the forums and add a forum thus not revealing a category. Hope this helped you understand

Hi,

Go to Admin Panel > Display tab > Structure & Hierarchy > Select Medium for "Split Categories On Index" > Save

Actually, it did work, but there is a problem!

This is how it turned out ... :-
Category Problem! Ss_of_15

I actually wanted the first two forums to remain in one category and the last forum to end up in a different category!

Well I just looked it over, seems as though you can not move them where I told you to. If you already have topics in the forum that is ok. Leave them for now, make a new forum under the category you want it to be in Name it the same. Save it. Now go to your forum website, go to each of the topics and there should be some quick mod tools on the bottom of each topic, click the move and place them in the new category.

AP>General>Categories and forums> click on the cog wheel for the forum "Questions, comments and suggestions" (not the Category),
Open the drop down menu next to "Attached to" and click on the category "Rules and site info" and save.

Then you can delete the category "questions, comments and suggestions" by clicking on the red "X" opposite the category.
