Cant get to homepage from portal page

Happy New year everybody!

I changed pic and text on Portal page and now I get stuck on portal page. May-be it happens to other forums as well?
I use IE, other browsers work well.

When I click "home" ("Foorum" in my language) on menubar it takes me back to Portal page.
Yesterday had Crome users same problem.
Today they seems to fine.

Must be IE bug or something...

EDIT: Happens to Firefox and Crome users as well.

Seriously, IE is an outdated browser especially for forums. I suggest you change to Firefox/Chrome or other.

Many forum members still use IE and this sugestion doesn't resolve the problem.

I use myself IE on that purpose I see myself problem when it arrives.

I have windows XP and I viewed your forum using the latest browser for XP which is "IE-8" to investigate your problem and its worked fine for me, the home link takes you to your forum index and the portal link takes you to the portal, so no problem from my end. I then used my default browser which is Firefox and it worked fine too. The only reason I can think of why that might have happened is if you have changed your homepage settings from "Index" to "Portal" it might have been cached in your browser at that time. A simple reload of the page should have resolved the problem, if not clear your browsers cache and try again.

This does not sound like a browser incapability issue that can be blamed on Internet Explorer, although IE has many shortcomings, if you are using the latest version for your operation system it can certainly handle links such as what your forum is providing.

Using a different browser just to make something work for 'you' does not fix any issues, the problem still exists for others, so I applaud you for having the insight to acknowledge that.

I took down portal at the moment because too many complains.
If I know somebody will check it before Monday, I will put it back for moment.

Otherwise I will avail portal on Monday morning for checking and let members know about possible problems.

It's still open for people to view I just checked it again.

Interesting, and it works that way.

But if you go in without /portal, it takes to forum page.
I switch on portal. One moment.

It seems to work now.
I ask around how about others.

Not really.
One firefox user just reported same problem.

I just got todays last report from firefox user.
I advised her to log out, close window, open new window and log in again, it helped.

Meaning problem seems to occur for members who using auto login.

I tried this but it didn't work, has someone suggestions to solve this problem?. Clearing browsers cache din't help either.

Bit other then that i dont see any problems so cant really forward it anywhere or try to understand what may be wrong?

How long ago did this start happening and have you changed or added any new coding/scripts lately

It started 4th January, or at least I noticed it then.
This /forum link doesn't work when having problen, it still takes you to portal page, I tried this way as well.
Haven't changed any scripts or, anything.
I just changed pic on portal that day.

You should still forward it somewhere, to let them know, problem like this exist.
Other forums must have it as well.

Just to be clear you are saying members go to your forum and are on the portal page as your home page, When they click to the forum it just stays on or redirects to the portal page?

Try turning disabling the portal option off and re-set your home page to home page index page for a day.

other then that you can restore your forum back to a date before this start happening by using the forum utilities tool.

However you will lose any new post from the date point you take it back too

But can try it again for a day.

Can't go back either, just had many new topics opened and important posts.

I just live with a problem at the moment and waiting more forums to report problem, til somebody finds what's wrong, or hopefully it heels itself then.

More IE and Firefox users have reported problem today.

I just checked it, works fine for me.

Are you sure they click the right image? Because the Avaleht & Foorum images are not the same size. When you hover over them, it displays Portal & Forum respectively & works as it should.

I'm sure since I had the problem myself, but now works fine for me.
I cheched everything in case I have wrong links or something.

It seems like traveling bug/virus/script from internet.

I understand you can't fix thing you can't see, but I keep reporting to let you know there is still problem for some users.

I don't think its a problem. The only problem could be the image sizes & could create a confusion while clicking it.

I don't see any differents in image sizes. Ok, few pixels here and there, have to make proper buttons... But it's not visible by eye to members.
The bottons have been same for 3 years, no problem with them before.

But it is a problem, since some members can't get in the forum.
It happens to some other forums as well, but not everybody can see problem.
Only very few are infected.

I am 100% positive, they are not infected.

Okay, let us know what happens after you change it to a new navbar set in which the images have a border so as to differentiate the images.
