log in issues for members
hi i am addmin on JDMEnthusist-IRL or at least thats what we were until earlier we seemed to have changed back to our initial name JDMenthusiasts-IRL? this change was made without us being informed? now we have members having issues with logging in... we would have prefered if it was left alone as this is now messing things up for us. Could anyone please please please shed some light on this PLEASE the site is getting very busy lately and this is the last thing we needed.
thanks in advance for you help

The domain name you had expired. Because of this, your forum is using the original address. What message does the members get when they try to log in?
P.S. Do you know that the Facebook Connect option is not working like it should be?

Re: log in issues for members
The address that is created when you create the forum does not expire. When you buy a domain name through Forumotion, it is only good for a year.

Re: log in issues for members
Do you have Facebook Connect activated:
Administration Panel > Modules > Facebook Connect ?
It looks like you have it activated.
You should have notice a message in the administration panel about the expiration of the domain name. What was the original link to the forum?

Can you log into the forum yourself?
You did not answer my question about what message members get when they try to log in.

Use the Utilities to connect directly to your administration panel and remove the redirection for the domain name.

When you gain access to your administration panel remove the redirection for your domain name:

Re: log in issues for members
Hello,
OK so, first the message for the expiration of the domain name is on the Admin Panel.
Do you have access to the Admin Panel ?
The last visit of the founder was on december 2012. You need to find an agreement with him if you want to manage the forum.

Is our old name available again? JDMEnthusiasts-IRL?
Re: log in issues for members

Re: log in issues for members
You can't buy 2 different domain names for the same forum.

Re: log in issues for members
ok so my best bet is to just shut it down cos its more hastle than its worth at this stage.....as a customer here i feel that i am not getting any help, i need help with this, not short answers or you cant do this or that... sorry for being rude, but what do i need to do to get this situation back to normal? again, thanks you for your help but can we put this thing to bed please
Re: log in issues for members
Which situation ?
You're telling first that your members can't log in to the forum which is wrong, and now you're asking if you can change the personalized domain name, but as you're not the founder, this is impossible.
