Solved Favicon issues

Post by TasV on January 23rd 2013, 4:08 pm

Can I upload a PNG file to servimg and then insert the url into general > config > favicon ? I tried it and it seems to work in the tabs in Chrome and Firefox but not in IE9.

Could it have anything to do with the naming of the file? Servimg modifies the name of the file when it uploads it so despite saving it as favicon.png here on my computer it has uploaded it as favico10.png

(it displays fine from the urlL https://i16.servimg.com/u/f16/13/33/54/62/favico10.png )

ok... so is it an IE9 setting instead? Here's the link: http://rosebreedersdirect.forumotion.com/ does it work for anyone else in EI? The favicon works in IE9 on the website I made for my wife here: http://www.fireflydancewear.com.au/ . This is an .ico file though... any good recommendations for favicon hosts that will accept .ico extensions?

I have it as an .ico file as well... didn't use it cos I was having trouble finding a host. Does the favicon work for anyone else?
