Photographs appearing then disappearing

Some of my members are stating that when they put a photograph on the forum sometimes it does not appear. Some say the image does appear but it takes at least a minute to appear, some say the image comes through immediately and then seconds later it disappears. Some say its there one time and next time they log on its disappeared. They are using the image code from a well known hosting site. I use the same website and have never ever had problems with them. I use Chrome and I have asked these members which browser they are using. I've also asked them to ensure their cache is emptied. Can you advise why this is happening? Thank you in anticipation.

Are the images very huge in size? So it might take a long time to load.

I have suggested tinypic to them. I've got the photos set to resize at 480x390 ... should I make it smaller?

I have mine set at 600 x 700 so it isn't that Corrie.

Cheers for reply. I've set it smaller and smaller as this has been ongoing. I will wait and see what the mods advise to set it at.

If you mean the photos they are putting on the forum then no, they tell me they are not too big.

Like, the memory used. A certain picture is of 2 mb or something. Although, i am not sure if thats the cause of problem.

Since, the users are going to use tinypic.com , lets see how it goes now. Ask them to make a account on tinypic.com so that images are never deleted. Unregistered accounts's images get deleted sometimes.

The people having the problem have all confirmed they are using PB (same as I do and have never had any photo disappear).

Possibly, its difficult to ascertain any problem when the problem cannot be replicated on our end. Can you post your forum URL, so i can check if it happens to me.

it sounds to me that it may be just taking a lil time to load, sometimes photobucket can be slow too.

i would try a number of image host and see what happens with then,
like imageshack.com
imagebam.com
imagevenue.com
tinypic as was suggested already, there are lots of free image hosting out there, so just google free image hosting, remember to always use bbcode option codes for forums as well
