Inserting html and adding widgets

Post by Lucky1 on February 14th 2013, 5:38 pm

I have two problems I want solving.

1. I want to use the contents of a custom widget to display an image near the bottom of the page, I have found the right place, at the bottom of the index_box code to place it.

What code do I need to insert the widgets content, similar to an .asp include?

2. Almost the same question but using html saved using the html pages management.

Thanks in advance..

I am trying to make the admins life easier.

I want to place the contents of one of the custom widgets somewhere of my choosing on a page. There must be some code that is used to do this?

The content of the custom widget is savedf on the database server, so there must be a way to call it as a variable?

Both questions are different ways of approaching the same problem.

If you can answer question 2 that would be great.

Grabbing the "content" of a widgtet and moving it somewhere else.

Here is another for me to try and explain what I want

Here is the last few lines from the standard code for "index_box"

</tr>
<!-- END forumrow -->
<!-- BEGIN catfoot -->
<tr>
<!-- BEGIN inc -->
<td class="{catrow.catfoot.inc.INC_CLASS}" width="46"><img src="{SPACER}" height="0" width="46" /></td>
<!-- END inc -->
<td class="spaceRow" colspan="{catrow.catfoot.INC_SPAN}" height="1"><img src="{SPACER}" alt="" height="1" width="1" /></td>
</tr>
<!-- END catfoot -->
<!-- BEGIN tablefoot -->
</table><img src="{SPACER}" alt="" height="5" width="1" /><!-- END tablefoot --><!-- END catrow -->
XXXXX

You can see I have inserted XXXX at the very last line.

If this were live code, the XXXX would appear below the index box on the home page.

Now I want to replace the XXXX with the contents of one or more widgets, or the contents of /h1-test-page for example.

Any help by anyone appreciated.

OK thats great, I'm sure I can use that.

What if instead of "/h1-" I want to insert the contents of a widget instead?
