Forum appears blank
Hi, a number of my forum members are reporting to me that for the last week they get a blank page when trying to access the site. It doesn't happen every time but I have now witnessed this on both an ipad and iphone. It has also happened on pcs. The page loads but simply remains a blank white page.
Can anyone suggest the reason?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Forum appears blank
Hello Timv
It would help if you could give a time scale on when this problem shows up.
I say this as at times our servers save data to our backup system and it may be down to that.
Can i ask you to pick up any times and where they are in the world so we can work out what time zones there is and match them up with the time the servers back up
In the UK the back up is done between 12 midnight and 1am
or it could just be a slow server or browser speed

Re: Forum appears blank
Hi thanks for the replies. The site generally loads fine for me, but yesterday I asked a friend to try on his iPhone. When on wifi it loaded fine, but appeared blank on 3G. This was around 1500 UK time. On Friday I asked someone else to view the site via their BT wifi on an iPod Touch and the page was blank. This was around 2015 UK time.
I have experienced no issues via iPad, iPhone or pc.

Re: Forum appears blank
When I read your post last night I also got a blank screen. This was about 21:40pm last night. Today it is showing OK.
Re: Forum appears blank
Is this solved, since the above post has been thanked & the forum seems to be loading fine.

No this issue is NOT resolved - I was just being polite and thanking the folks for replying. Still looking for a solution .....
The loading issue is sporadic - works sometimes, sometimes doesn't.

One of our longstanding members just posted up this photo:

What's going on?!

Have you checked to see if that member is not listed in the ban list?

Re: Forum appears blank
Yep I can ask a couple of them who've had the issue to test tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll let you know the outcome.

Resynchronized the forum but this has not solved the issue and another member has now seen a ban notification despite them not being banned.

Re: Forum appears blank
Ah interesting, they had posted from 2 IP addresses that are on our ban list. I'm assuming that is a shared IP. I've removed the ban and we'll see if that helps.

Re: Forum appears blank
ok i have just looked at your forum and with my ipad and your site also gave me a white page so i can now say that it has nothing to do with the system doing it's back ups.
Not really sure why this is going on can i ask what browser your iphone's and ipad's are using ? as this only shows up on my safari browser and not on firefox.
so maybe it's aproblem with there browser's

Re: Forum appears blank
Hi Ape
On the iPhone and iPads it's Safari. I'll need to ask about the pcs.
