Hi. I would like to suggest a code to change post counts of members wish to do this. For instant when we merge a board and then people want to keep their post count from the previous board you could do that in their profile.

Do you mean that two forums are merged together and keep the post counts? Two forums can not be merged.

I don't see why we would need that. Post count isn't really an option, if you post a lot, you have a high post count, if you don't have many posts, you don't. I don't think members should be able to add/subtract from their post could like it's a profile field.
If you want members to be able to do this, for whatever reason, just make a new profile field called post count, make it show up on our profile, and make it editable to members. I don't think you can remove the old post count bar though.
If you want to try that, and you want more details, PM me so I don't spam the thread ^

This is something I would definitely like please as would the majority who run signature/tagging forums.

It is especially needed if you host a forum elsewhere and want to move to forumotion.

I run a forum that has been open for 3 years now elsewhere and we reward members when they get to certain post counts and at the moment I know this is a huge factor for them.

Many of them have over 3000 posts.
By being able to change the post count members don't have to worry about losing their post count and I am sure many forum owners would be appreciative of the ability to alter post counts.

Many members spam forums just to build up their post counts and rather than have to keep deleting posts Admins can just remove posts via their post count.

So, did this happen or is it going to happen? I'm switching forums currently and I have some members with over 10,000 posts. Most are over 4 or 5 thousand. That will be one of the first questions when they all get moved, "How bout my post count?" Oh, and yes it should remain in the admins hands as far as adjustment Smile

I voted No,

I don't see why one would ever want to modify the post count number. It seems rather pointless and would only be useful on some occasions.

I voted yes because although I don't see myself using such a feature I can understand that it would appeal to a lot of people. If you'd like you can activate the "points system" under Modules and rename it to "Post Count" and hide the original Post Count option. Then set it where members receive one point for every post in every forum. That way you can have a Post Count field as well as be able to modify it.
