Notification of replies to spam folder Empty Notification of replies to spam folder

Post by Corrie February 26th 2013, 22:05

I have just had a message from one my members which I will copy below ....

Can you please explain why some of the notifications that there has been a reply to a post appear in my Spam folder. Whenever R****** posts the notification I get that he/she has posted is in my Spam folder. Others are in my normal mail folder.
Thanks.

Can you help with this one please? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi! Very Happy

Nope. You can't solve this considering the fact that forumotion have not any attribution to email service your user uses. Wink

I am not a 100% sure why this is. I know my other mail box I used for this site before I got it changed filtered certain words and sometimes depending on the words used in a topic and the username of the person would make my mail go into my spam box.

Also is this an email message that is being sent? or is it an automatic forum notification? If its an email then normal spam filters might flag up the sender. If its an automatic forum email that is generated when a reply/post comes through then again it might be detecting a word that is often related to spam and the email is blocked.

I'd advise telling this person to add this persons details or the forum address to the "approved" addresses this way they won't end up in the spam folder.
