Re: Achievements

Post by KingOfSports on Mon 17 Jun - 22:50

My forum did this manually where you could get icons in your profile. Each icon had 1-3 stars. For example, if you liked the forum Facebook page, you would get a facebook achievement with one star under it. If you subscribed to the Youtube and followed the twitter accounts, you would get the same icon with two and three stars.

I agree though, having it automatically would be much better.

This is what I vote for. To set the achievement, and when a user hovers over the achievement (let's say User X has made a thread and his achievements show under his avatar or profile fields,) if they hover over the achievement it can say something like "Head Admin" or whatever we set it to be. (I hope yall understand.)

I certainly like the idea! As long as the option can be disabled... I wouldn't want it on all forums.

It's for show and it makes forumers likely to be more active to reach achievements. You could also use achievements as a way of prizes. Example: you win this prize for achieving the 1,000 post achievement or you need this achievement to use points on this specific prize. It is just like the Point system or reputation system but expanded and different in some ways.

I like this idea too. As a prize for a certain amount of achievements, you could let members join a special usergroup to show their amount of achievements. Voted yes!
