Solved Forum Post Background Images

Post by DesignersSociety on March 15th 2013, 9:36 pm

Is there a way to add background images to the posts instead of a solid color. For example using an image of journal paper that will be the background for members posts?

Yes with css.

Code:
background-image:url('URLGOESHERE');

Give me a link to your forum and I can make it easier for you.

Should i enter that in the post part of the custom css? I've edited the css alot before for my site like making the base of the forum transparent. I figured it involved editing the css, I just want to make sure it's probably the post parts and see what type of code to use. That's a pretty basic one I've used before so hopefully that'll work. If you have any more details on where to put it please and thank you!

Also do you know which parts it would be that I should edit like .bodyline etc? I just want it to be the parts that are on the forum page and not all the widget boxes and such on my site?

I am not really sure which images i want to use yet I have to make them first. Here is the url to the forum itself http://designerssociety.betaboard.net/forum What I want is just to make the forum part, which is currently white, into an image instead.

I think i know what you want. you want the white piece throughout the forum to be the image you want. Ok well try this CSS

Code:
.forumline .row1, .forumline .row2, .forumline .row3, .forumline .row3Right {
    background-image: url("PICTURE URL HERE") !important;

Do you want it for when someone reply to?

If so, here is the code

Code:
.post.st-answer {
    background: url("http://i46.tinypic.com/qyzadw.png") repeat-y scroll left top rgb(229, 241, 249);
}

Never mind I kinda like how it looks now, is there any way though and I know this is advanced but, a way that they can choose from different ones? Like they can choose from a few different backgrounds and set one for themselves, like for their post or something?

Sounds good but it is not currently available in forumotion. You can suggest it.

O and try this code and see. Let me see after if that's what you want so i can get the correct CSS

Code:
.forumline .row1, .forumline .row2, .forumline .row3, .forumline .row3Right {
    background-image: url("http://i46.tinypic.com/qyzadw.png") !important;
}

Not really for the picture but this one is pretty cool to. Its the cool color changer.
