In progress "Username already taken"

Post by ChromeBob March 24th 2013, 7:14 pm

Hello. I have a problem.
For example, today I tried to make a account called "Anonymous"... it said that the username was taken, even if it dont. So i set his name Anonymouse123, then logged in master acc and gone in the admin panel, tried to change it to Anonymous, again username taken. Any ideeas?

Hello,

Please go to:

1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. General Tab
3. Security (on the left, under Forum)
4. Select 'Unauthorize subscriptions made with the most commonly used spam usernames. : No'

Check to see if the username's taken in inactive users:

1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. Users & Groups Tab
3. Inactive users (on the left, under Users)

Hi,

You simply can't use the name "Anonymous" as that is already preset in every forum server side, so it's not something you can change.
You also can't use a obviously fake email address such as "@lol.com", the system will not allow that.
Instead I suggest you try 10minutemail.com Wink

Sorry about that.

Hey!
I have a problem like that.

I got a message from a member who got to be a moderator today and he said he coulnd't register with his first name (roli00000000) , he didn't get the email from the forum so he registered a roli000000000 account and he told the problem to me. I said I'll edit his name to 8 0s from the 9 0s, but I can't. Then, when I searched his name with 8 0s, it wasn't an account with 8 0s, just with 9 0s so I don't know why I can't edit his name?

It could be I complicated the problem but I couldn't explain that easier.

Please help!
