Would you like to customize the banned message?
Message once a member is banned
Hello,
When a member is banned and they log in, a message appears saying "You've been banned from this forum". Instead of that message, would you like the ability to customize the message?
You see, on my forum I also hand out suspensions, so having a message saying "You've been suspended for X days" would be helpful.
So is this a good idea?

Re: Message once a member is banned
Sounds wonderful.
That doesn't demoralize members as much as hearing "You've been banned - Never come back" or whatever.
So yes, the ability to modify the message would be great

Re: Message once a member is banned
I am going to vote yes on this suggestion. I think that the default message is pretty boring. I would like to be able to customize the message for each IP.
For example, a member is banned for spamming. The IP is banned, and a custom message is displayed saying why they are banned and for how long if it is temporary. A second member is banned for disrespect. Another custom message is displayed saying they are banned for disrespectful behavior. etc.

I just need some feedback on these messages. If there's something I should add, correct, or take away, feel free to let me know.
For each account, the message will display differently from the default message. Shown here is how the message will display if a member with 25 infractions attempts to access the forums.

So does anybody think I should use these messages for each account in the event that this suggestion is fulfilled?ChessMaster 8k wrote:I just need some feedback on these messages. If there's something I should add, correct, or take away, feel free to let me know.
