In progress hidden option

Post by george20 March 28th 2013, 8:01 pm

I while ago i moved this option from my template.(someone shown me how to on here).
So now members including mods can not see this option in there profile settings which means no body can enter the forum as "hidden". Only myself (admin) have this option , But it is still shown in the "whos on line " section as "1hidden" when i am on line ,

What I would like to do now is remove the" Hidden" from the who,s online section as well , This way i can go on my forum and no one will know i am there ,

Can some one please explain to me how to remove the "hidden" from the "whos on line section"

Cheers Dave

There is not a way to stop members from using this option in their profiles. You do know that administrators can see hidden members and moderators if you have the option checked for them.

You cannot remove it from the templates as well, since you'll be deleting the whole online list. (PHP coding)

I believe there is not an element for the hidden one, you will have to remove the whole connected members element from the index_body template.

Hi,

This is correct unless you have not reverted your template ever since I think 2008/9(ish) when the devs had the (<sarcasm>intelligent </sarcasm>) idea to remove this such variable
If this is your case, you should have a code that has something similar to {L_Hidden_user} near {L_Who_is_online} which in modern day coding is merged to simply {L_USERS_ONLINE}

I mention this as I know you've been around for quite a while Dave, good luck Wink

Unless you have posted about this, your members will not know who the hidden member is. And if you log onto your forum hidden and post, they will know who it is.

All I can suggest from here is that you create a second account, and assuming have 1 hidden and one closed admin group, have ur new/2nd account in the true/crowned admin group and leave him as hidden, no-one will really know who from here.
You can set the hidden-ability in the admin-side profile.
