In progress Editing Registration Agreement Terms

Post by Richsballpythons April 7th 2013, 9:48 am

Need to know where I can edit this to coincide with the one i made in the FAQ sections. As I have added to it, but it does NOT show up during registration, and member may agree to the original one and not the one ive added to.

This can be troublesome with legalities later on,

EDIT- The section in AP called additional rules, is not what im looking for. i dont want to add to it this way but have the added directly to it in same paragraphs ive added to, rather posting it at the bottom.

I've just added another rule into the registration form... ACP - General - Additional Rules... and here add anything you want... this works, I checked it... try to register yourself and you'll see in the registration form the rule that you added

Not what im looking for, When you add like i stated in the additional rules, it lists them on the bottom of the existing rules. I want to place what i want edited within the existing text in certain areas.

You should not edit the agreement. It can be against the Terms of Service. You only really can add to it.

Adding can only be done at the bottom. Not the default content that is already there.

That is true you cannot edit or modify the default registration page but you can add your own additional rules at the bottom of it. Or you could post a link to your own forum rules thread or page that you have on the forum also.
Example,if you look at the registration page of this forum,Forumotion Support- You will see there is addition red text at the bottom with a link to the forum rules on here.(Where it says before registration accept this topic here, with link to FM support rules page.)

Actually you can edit the Terms Of Agreement depending on your forum type. I've done it to my forum. Check here: https://help.forumotion.com/t52766-changing-the-default-rules-to-your-own

This works on Phpbb2 also.
